HOLA CHICAS

The heat of the sunny spanish festival beaconed a loyal return for the second year running. Acts such as The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Buzzcocks and Maya Jane Coles made the festival one not to miss. Festival fashion was a bit of a fail this year with neon paint making a tiresome reappearance and most peoples efforts similar to that of the streets in sunny Brighton. I guess to those unfortunate enough to find their postcode absent of the crucial BN introduction, this years FF was a riot. An immaculate collection of customised Levis shorts, freshly fringed tee's, tie dye tops and dip hem dresses. Studs scattering the beer tents and glitter surfing the crowd. Thankfully Jim Morrison was splashed across more band tee's than John Lennon, separating the fans from the sheep however Stone Roses album art took home a solid gold amongst its contenders.
21 years since The Stone Roses broke through the early 90's brit pop scene, and a 21st Birthday speech from my ModFather made meeting the man himself even more exciting.
VIP courtesy of Steve Diggle (The Buzzcocks) insured a non-existant que. bar, a variety of plush seating areas, mingling with Jessie J's manager, producer and band, chilling with Ham Sandwhich, catching up with Ed Sheeran and being totally utterly starstruck by Ian Brown.

Playground Graze

Sunny Monday morning in Brighton meant one thing...winter wardrobe hibernation.

The GAP dungaree's i have been itching to wear finally slipped off the hanger to form a collaboration with my new topshop mulit-print top, classic raybans and black fringe socks...

90's revival minus the grunge, you are my new fave.

Gucci Glam.

Every season i spot a splash of animal print lurking amongst the trends, becoming a trend in itself or accenting an already exotic collection.

This season, Gucci has a ravishing array of tiger treats lingering amoungst the accessories which i just can not ignore.

Here are a minor selection of the treats i would be sure to pounce on if i had deep enough pockets...

Skinny Latte With Extra Cream...

Coffee breaks between work at this time of the year can only lead to two things. Show stalking and online shopping.

The generous 10 minutes is long enough to fill up the shopping cart but unfortunately not long enough to oggle at the slender models strutting down the catwalk of the global Fashion Weeks and carry on serving customers in a calm manor.

The hype at London,Paris, Milan and New York has swamped my twitter with updates from industry intelligence WGSN to aspiring classmates. The tweeters successfully completed an asumptious aim of a) making me incredibly jealous and b) sending me off to net-a-porter to delve into a dreamland of online shopping.

On the plus side, with the sunshine and melting temperatures of SS12 hibernating, focusing on developing my wardrobe into a juicy sunny delight as opposed to a steaming hot chocolate has taken priority over filling my drawers with frilled skirts and fur-fabric mixes.

Here's a taste of some brights that make even the greyest of Brighton sky's look like a Moroccan sunset...

Jet hues.

Despite my previous post, i find my online basket filling up with more and more shades of black.
Surprisingly, over the past few years it has become a colour associated with summer just as much as winter as im sure a lot of you will agree.
Thought id pop on a few of my fav black outfits from past summers...

Dare Devil

Pretty pastels to popping brights, print phenomenon to masculine minimalism. The nineties revival that tried so hard to squeeze its way out two years ago has finally emigrated from the forecasters files and onto the plastic hangers of the high street, injected with fantasy and imagination. This season is shockingly versatile no matter how shallow or deep you paddle into your comfort zone.

Here are a few beauties from across the trends I've got my eyes firmly fixed on...

Perfect with ripped high waited denim shorts and an impressive collection of chains around the neck and a cluster or studs around the wrist (net-a-porter)

The fringe binge continues (River Island)

Utterly fab and perfect with any outfit, any occasion! (Missguided)

I need this. Perfect match with my white denim GAP dungarees i am aching to get out!! (ASOS)

The Fab 4

AH ITS THE END OF THE WORLD.

2012 is upon us and the fear if we'll make it through the next 11 months is a daunting prospect.

Do we splurge all our hard earned student loans on looking fab over the next two seasons or do we invest in key Primarni pieces and ogle at the merchandising of Topshop, Kurt Geiger and Urban Outfitters?

Our current uni project is a class magazine focusing on the theme of 'diversity,' and to be ''published'' in 2013...if we make it.
One of the shoots i'm doing is an accessory shoot based on the 4 elements; air, water, fire and earth, a feature of our 'Rebirth' theme.

Here's a sneak preview of what is yet to come...

Today i am a sheep

Today i am wearing a bargain jumper - 40% wool don't you know.
I find myself turning my nose up at anything that looks warm and cosy but is actually 100% synthetic. Not in a pompous manor FYI.

Jumper £15 STING at Westfields shopping centre in Stratford, Laaaandan.
Trilby £12 Forever 21
Vintage Scarf - Christmas gift from the bestie ( blogspot; Footwears)

Popped to the big city to see my cousin for a hint of christmas shopping, window shopping, idea hunting.
We both had a pretty successful evening, rummaging for NYE sparkle and christmas glamour. I came back to the coast with this wooly jumper from STING, a plum trilby, gold sequin skirt, metallic top (as seen in Metallic Madness) a 'joke' LOVE LIFE tee all courtesy of Forever 21 accomanied by a belly full of fine wine and good food.

My wardrobe 1 - 0 Christmas Shopping

Post festive season, i am still snuggling down in this oatmeal delight however, the bobbling has got a bit extreme and it has sadly become a frequent hibernator in my art deco cocktail cabinet...student make shift wardrobe.

Playful Pastels

Pretty pastels and ladies in lace are rarely easy on the eye - in my opinion. However whilst dipping into the generic online high street stores, i discovered a new found love. a passion for pastels.
Topshop have a fabulous array of early SS12 pastels on show which can be easily adopted and introduced into even the most urban jungles of personal style.

This season, i'll be pinning my peepers open for hints of orange sorbet, meadow lilac and powder mint to accent vanilla pod creams and summer fate pinks...
